This week, Sofyan Amrabat has not been seen working with Manchester United. This suggests that the player might not be able to play in Saturday’s Premier League game against Bournemouth.
Nine players will not be able to play for Manchester United in their next game. Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Victor Lindelof, Lisandro Martinez, and Anthony Martial are all out for sure.
Also, Scott McTominay, Raphael Varane, Jonny Evans, and Marcus Rashford might not be able to play at the Vitality Stadium.
In the shots of the training ground that Man United shared on Wednesday, Rashford and Amrabat were not to be seen. The Morocco international did not seem to be a part of the session.
After coming to Manchester United on loan from Fiorentina near the end of the summer transfer window, the 27-year-old was expected to be a regular player this season.
Another injury blow for Manchester United before their game against Bournemouth?
Erik ten Hag’s team has played Amrabat 23 times in all tournaments, with 15 of those games being in the Premier League. However, he has not been able to make the starting lineup very often.
The Moroccan player has only started seven league games this season. He has also only played once in the FA Cup, a full 90 minutes against Nottingham Forest at the end of February.
Last weekend, Amrabat came on late as a replacement in Man United’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool in the Premier League. After the game, there was no talk of a possible health problem.
Ten Hag will talk to the reporters on Friday afternoon before the game at Bournemouth. They will ask him about the club’s injured players, as 10 players look like they might not be able to play on Saturday.
Another injury blow for Manchester United before their game against Bournemouth?
It’s not likely that Amrabat will join Manchester United permanently.
It was said last month that Amrabat would not be joining Man United on a regular basis this summer. Instead, the player was set to return to his home club Fiorentina.
The loan is thought to cost the Red Devils €10m (£8.6m), and they have the chance to buy the player for €20m (£17.1m) plus €5m (£4.3m) in add-ons.
Many people thought that Amrabat was signed on loan with a long-term deal to follow in the summer of 2024. However, he has had trouble adjusting to the speed of the Premier League.
Christian Eriksen and Casemiro could both leave Old Trafford in the coming transfer window. Amrabat, on the other hand, is still behind Kobbie Mainoo, Mason Mount, Bruno Fernandes, and McTominay in the rankings, and the club will be getting at least one new central midfielder this summer.
AC Milan is thought to be keeping a close eye on the situation because they might want to sign the Moroccan player from Fiorentina before the 2024–25 season.
