With his “fantastic” play in Saturday’s draw with Bournemouth, Steve Nicol says that most teams would love to have one Manchester United player on their team.
Erik ten Hag might think that United got away with something at the Vitality Stadium.
The controversial penalty decisions went their way. The Cherries had a late penalty reversed because VAR said the challenge happened outside the penalty area.
An own goal was given to Manchester United when the ball hit Adam Smith in the face. It did look like Smith was very unlucky to get in trouble.
Bruno Fernandes, on the other hand, was able to take advantage and score his eighth league goal of the season. The Portuguese player tied the game for United in the first half with a powerful strike from close range.
United and Bournemouth tie, and Bruno Fernandes is praised for his work.
But on Saturday, he stepped up when his team needed him to. And on ESPN, Nicol said that Fernandes’ skill is so good that you can’t help but be amazed.
“There’s no doubt that he can do well if they give him the ball in the right places.” The guy is good at both going for a hit and taking a spot kick. He said, “Most teams would want him on their side.”
“I’m not sure if he’s ready to be captain. But the truth is that United doesn’t have anyone else who could be captain, so he’s fine in that way.
“But yeah, he’s great as a player.”
In fact, it was one of Fernandes’ best seasons, though he could be attacked for how he leads sometimes. For sure, though, he has kept his group out of a lot of problems over the years.
In 227 games for the club across all categories, he has scored 76 goals and set up 62 others. And he might end up scoring the second most goals at Old Trafford this season.
United doesn’t seem to be able to figure out how to make real progress. Fans can’t wait for this Premier League season to be over.
Fernandes, on the other hand, is a player who could definitely help United move further up the table.
