Harry Maguire should be able to play in this weekend’s FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City, which is good news for Manchester United.
The England player was seen holding his leg last weekend against Bournemouth. He was seen talking with the club doctor and physiotherapist.
Even so, the center-back was able to play the whole 90 minutes, which made the boss happy.
Maguire wasn’t seen at training on Tuesday, but the Manchester Evening News says that was just for safety reasons and that he should be fine for Sunday.
United got a big defence help for the FA Cup semi-final.
The Red Devils are missing four top central defenders right now because they are hurt: Raphael Varane, Jonny Evans, Lisandro Martinez, and Victor Lindelof.
So, Willy Kambwala, a new player for the club, has started with Maguire in the last two games. He played well against Liverpool, and Rio Ferdinand praised him.
But the kid had a terrible game at the Vitality Stadium. His mistake gave Dominic Solanke the chance to score with a shot that went through the posts.
Along with Maguire, who has been a leader at the back, Kambwala will try to make things right.
Many people didn’t like that he decided to stay early in the season, but the 31-year-old has done well for United whenever Erik ten Hag has asked him to.
Antony should be back in the team after missing the recent trip to the South Coast to play the Cherries with an unknown illness. Maguire should also be back in the group.
It’s clear that United will beat Coventry. As long as they win, they will play either Chelsea or Manchester City in the final next month.
