Alejandro Garnacho has apologized to Erik ten Hag, the boss of Manchester United, after the player liked two social media posts that were critical of him.
It was captured on video that Garnacho liked the posts after United’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth that criticized Ten Hag for taking him off at halftime and for what he said about the Argentine’s play after the game.
It was a lot like the drama surrounding Jadon Sancho, who criticized Ten Hag in public on social media. He was sent away for four months and then loaned to Borussia Dortmund in January because he wouldn’t say sorry.
Ten Hag is eager to move on this time, though, and confirms that Garnacho has said sorry for what he did.
I think Alejandro is a young player. Ten Hag said, “Has to learn a lot.” “He has apologised for it and we move on.”
This happened the same week that Sancho helped Dortmund make it to the semifinals of the Champions League. Ten Hag said again that Sancho’s move away from Old Trafford had nothing to do with how good he was on the field.
We all know that [Sancho] is a great player. “That’s not a surprise,” Ten Hag said about the loan holder. “That is not the issue.”
On Sunday, United plays Coventry City in the FA Cup semi-finals. They are trying to end a four-game losing streak, which Ten Hag said has made his team angry.
“Yes, of course we want to win every game, and we’re upset when we don’t,” he said. “We’re mad, but we know we can beat the best teams too.”
We tied Liverpool twice, beat them in the FA Cup, and played great against Chelsea. We can reach really high highs when we play at our level.
“The last season was the last season.” Every season, we want to do well and win prizes. We have a great chance. We’re in the semi-finals, but it will be very hard.
