TalkSPORT host Simon Jordan addressed the culture issue at Old Trafford since Sir Alex Ferguson was in charge, then he went full steam at two Manchester United players.
After leading United to their final Premier League championship at the end of the 2012–13 season, the Scotsman left the team, and the Red Devils struggled.
Ferguson was renowned for his tough management style and upheld a rigid culture at the Premier League team while in charge.
The venerable 82-year-old former United boss was not hesitant to fire his players for acting inappropriately while they were at Old Trafford or to publicly criticize them.
Both current and former United managers have found it difficult to wield the same authority at Old Trafford as the legendary Scot following Ferguson’s departure from the team.
After coming to Manchester United from Ajax in 2022, current Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag has faced his fair share of challenges at the Old Trafford stadium.
After a public spat with Erik ten Hag, the legendary player for Manchester United departed Old Trafford for a second time and signed for Al Nassr.
Ten Hag’s public criticism of the United winger and his explanation of why he kept him out of his squad in September of last year caused a gap between him and Sancho this season.
Jadon Sancho, who is back on loan at Borussia Dortmund, was barred from the United first team after responding negatively on social media to the Dutchman.
Simon Jordan has criticized two current players under Ten Hag and spoken out about the culture at United following Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.
After being photographed in nightclubs this season, Marcus Rashford faced criticism for his off-field behavior. The former chairman of Crystal Palace responded with a jab.
Bruno Fernandes, the captain of United, came under fire from Jordan for his actions on the field, saying the Portugal international “can’t control his emotions.”
“That’s where the club culture becomes really prevalent,” he wrote in his Daily Mail column.
Senior players ought to lead by example, but at United, we don’t see that happening.
Marcus Rashford, who missed training following a wild night out, was seen attending upscale nightclubs on his birthday following United’s crushing of City.
Bruno Fernandes can’t manage his emotions, so he’s always waving airplanes down on the pitch.
“You wouldn’t have these problems that seem to be a regular diet at United if the club’s ideals and guiding principles were correct.”
Gary Neville called attention to the Man Utd cultural issue
Gary Neville has been outspoken in his criticism of Ten Hag’s inconsistent tenure at United and the issues facing the Premier League team.
The renowned Red Devils’ “Class of ’92” “wouldn’t be successful” at Old Trafford, according to the United icon, if they had made their debut today.
Neville, a member of the “Class of ’92,” asserted that the atmosphere at United right now would have prepared his previous colleagues for “failure” at the team.
After United’s 3-0 loss to Manchester City earlier in the season, he commented, “There is a real feeling of low [morale] at the club, but these are not bad lads in this dressing room.”
“We wouldn’t have succeeded if we [the Class of ’92] had entered the club at this specific time and in this particular setting.
Even with the caliber of the team I led—Ryan Giggs, David Beckham, and Paul Scholes—they would be doomed to fail in this setting today.
“So, I no longer hold these players responsible.
