Sir Jim Ratcliffe seems to be anxious for a manager at Manchester United, and he is currently looking to replace Ten Hag.
The Dutchman’s future at Old Trafford is in serious question after a genuinely awful season in which Manchester United finished last in Group A of the UEFA Champions League, behind Bayern Munich, Copenhagen, and Galatasaray.
Ian Ladyman of the Daily Mail even claims that a decision has already been taken and Erik ten Hag will be fired.
So, which Sir Jim Ratcliffe fave is looking to take over at Manchester United? Let us have a look.
Zinedine Zidane wants to replace Erik Ten Hag at Manchester United.
According to L’Equipe, Zinedine Zidane is interested in joining Manchester United.
It comes after Foot Mercato in France reported that Ratcliffe is eager to have the 51-year-old in the Old Trafford bench next season.
According to the French news site, the 71-year-old has even discussed internally replacing Ten Hag with Zidane this summer.
According to L’Equipe, Bayern Munich is also interested in hiring the Frenchman, who has won 190 of 301 games in football management.
However, Zidane prefers the opening – or predicted vacancy – at Manchester United, according to L’Equipe, who reports that the Marseille native has worries about the German language and life in Bavaria, making a transfer to England more appealing at the moment.
The Ratcliffe target has not managed since departing Real Madrid in May 2021, his second spell in charge of Los Blancos, where he won three UEFA Champions League titles.
The following list includes all of Zidane’s football management trophies.
One possibility has slipped away
Julian Nagelsmann has also been touted as a potential Ten Hag successor.
The Independent recently revealed that the German was on Ratcliffe’s shortlist.
However, Nagelsmann has opted to sign a contract extension that would keep him in command of the German national team until 2026.
Keep a watch on this issue, as Zidane is quickly emerging as a frontrunner to replace Ten Hag.
