Manchester United supporters have cause to be optimistic after a dramatic FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City.
For 70 minutes, things couldn’t have gone any better, with Manchester United leading 3-0. Everything that followed was similar to a nightmare.
Manchester United seemed to be under a spell, but they recovered just in time to win the penalty shootout.
We also have VAR to thank, and that late offside will undoubtedly be examined in the coming days. All of this should not overshadow some of the outstanding individual performances, and few players outperformed Harry Maguire at Wembley.

Maguire had to play alongside a barely mobile Casemiro and had an outstanding performance despite his team losing three goals.
Maguire struck a terrific header to put United ahead 2-0, smashing in a Bruno Fernandes corner.
He dribbled the ball forward up the field and attempted to influence the game, playing with genuine personality and passion to help his team over the line. With United under genuine strain as the game progressed, Maguire did not back down, but rather embraced it.

Maguire’s Making late push for Player of the Season
Harry Maguire won the United In Focus man of the match poll via Whatapp, with more than 60% of the vote.
The centre-back might also be in the running for player of the season.
Let’s be honest: there aren’t many throughout Erik ten Hag’s challenging campaign.
Youngsters Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo are definitely in contention. Diogo Dalot is also in the running owing to his consistency throughout the season.
Andre Onana’s recent development deserves at least a brief note.
So should Harry Maguire, who was named Premier League Player of the Month in November and has been the team’s most consistent centre-back.
Given the dependability of others, it may not say much, but it should mean something. Maguire will be a hero if he puts on such a strong performance in the final to help United defeat City.
