Manchester United squandered a 3-0 lead against Championship opponents, then surrendered a ‘winner’, holding on after a VAR review to win on penalties.

Roy Keane, a club veteran, was a commentator for ITV at Wembley Stadium and saw Manchester United’s quiet response at the conclusion of the penalty shootout.
He also pondered on how the Red Devils supporters responded, noting that the squad was lucky to win the game.
Keane told the station, “The Manchester United players and fans weren’t going overboard because they were fortunate to win. They were almost humiliated in the end.
“I don’t like what I see when I see the United team. I don’t see leaders.
“They give up chances, they give up goals, we’ve seen it all season and they rode their luck today.”

Harry Maguire was one of Manchester United’s top performers in the game, scoring one of the team’s three goals.
He commended the team’s fortitude in completing the game, saying afterward: “It seemed like the world wanted Coventry to go on and achieve it. We shown tremendous character by persevering, and winning the shootout was critical.”
These remarks enraged Keane, who said, “Maguire claimed he saw character, but I don’t see character. I’m nearly to the point where I dislike them.
Keane also chastised Andre Onana, calling him a time-waster who left him unimpressed.
He answered, “I notice harmful behaviours. The custodian is wasting time with a 2-0 lead; get on with the game and exercise your muscles.
Onana came through when Manchester United needed him the most, making a key save in the penalty shootout.
Keane issued a warning to Erik ten Hag, claiming that the style of the performance had put the spotlight on the manager.
He went on to say: “They’ll be celebrating getting to a cup final tonight but all this does is put more pressure on the manager.”
