Man Utd season ticket holders return Premier League tickets after Coventry horror performance.
Manchester United season ticket holders have given up their seats for tonight’s rescheduled Premier League fixture against Sheffield United at Old Trafford.
Manchester United supporters have returned Premier League tickets after their team’s humiliating defeat against Coventry.
The Red Devils endured a catastrophic collapse during Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final at Wembley Stadium, conceding three goals in the closing 20 minutes as the Championship side forced extra time.
United were subsequently rescued by the closest of VAR rulings after Coventry believed they had won at the conclusion of extra time before winning on penalties.
United’s performance was heavily panned, putting even more pressure on struggling manager Erik ten Hag. And it seems that some fans are voting with their feet by staying away from tonight’s home game against Sheffield United.
Ten Hag has come out fighting ahead of the match, calling the media’s response to Sunday’s performance “embarrassing” and “a disgrace”.
“We were unhappy about it [the defeat to Coventry]. I can tell that the supporters are also dissatisfied, but they are fed up with views,” added the Dutchman.
“But, overall, I’ve heard that the supporters are overjoyed that we’re back in the FA Cup Final. Even for Manchester United, it’s not business as usual; they’re not in the FA Cup final very frequently, and they’ve never been in it twice in a row.
