Scott McTominay might face a lengthy absence, with the club concerned about the severity of the injury.
Manchester United squandered more Premier League points this weekend, drawing 1-1 at home to Burnley and putting on another lacklustre performance.
Erik ten Hag must be fearful for his job at this point. The consequences have been dismal. Fans aren’t watching entertaining football either. Right now, everything feels a little flat.
Champions League football will not take place next season. United has a chance to win the FA Cup, but they will be far from favourites in that match. They may have to do it all without one of their most reliable goal suppliers, Scott McTominay.
The midfielder came on as a substitute against Burnley before leaving with what appeared to be a serious injury.
A key United source, @InsiderUtd1, has provided an update on the matter. Apparently, the United star is scheduled for a scan today, but the early indicators are’slightly worrying’, with the club afraid it will be a disastrous one.
Check out Insider United’s tweet on the news here:
At the time, I thought McTominay had done his knee in. If that is the case, we’ll be lucky to see him again this calendar year, let alone this season.
At the very least, I believe McTominay has completed his tenure. It appeared to be a little incident that affected only him. These are typically the most severe injuries.
Obviously, we’ll hear more as the week progresses, but I believe this is simply salt in the wound, and we’ll be without Scotty Mac for the foreseeable future. Summing up the season as a whole.
