Davide Petrucci, a former Manchester United player, has spoken out against the club’s poor performance this season, explaining why he thinks the squad has fallen since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement. He believes the manchester club overlooked some areas of the club and neglected to act fast on it.
Petrucci discussed his time playing for United from 2008 to 2014 and offered his thoughts on the club’s current decline in an interview with Tribal Football.
Among the individuals I had the opportunity to train alongside during my time at Manchester United— including Rooney, Paul Scholes, Cristiano Ronaldo, Tevez, Ferdinand, and Giggs—Paul Scholes stood out as the one who made the most lasting impression on me. While praising Paul Pogba, whom he still considers a talented player, Petrucci said, “His qualities were out of this world.” The pair liked living together.
In addition, Petrucci expressed his gratitude for being a part of United during their illustrious run under Sir Alex’s leadership, noting that the club was at its peak performance.

The centre midfielder further by saying that he thinks the loss of important players with “great personalities” who could manage the strain of playing for an elite club like United was another factor in United’s collapse.

The 32-year-old spent six years with the club, although he was never given a chance to play for United’s first team. Instead, he spent time on loan with Charlton Athletic, Peterborough, and Royal Antwerp. The transfer market
Petrucci chose to end his contract and join CFR Cluj of Romania in September 2014 after accepting the reality that he would not succeed at Old Trafford.
The Italian midfielder has said that he is “honoured” to have played for United, demonstrating that United will always have a particular place in his heart.
Whether United can turn around their Premier League campaign and qualify for the UEFA Champions League this season under current manager Erik ten Hag is an open question.
