Manchester United want £43M striker, his agents have been guests at Old Trafford this season

There are a lot of players Manchester United needs to buy in their first transfer window under Ineos, but a new striker is likely to be the most important one.

Since United hasn’t scored in a while, Rasmus Hojlund has really shown what he can do as the attack boss.

The Dane is still young and needs to grow, but this season we’ve seen some good signs from him.

But Hojlund does need help in attack, and United is in the same situation as last summer.

Should United sign a striker with more experience, like Ivan Toney from Brentford, or should they add another young star to their attack?

Toney is still being linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer, but it’s hard to say which one is better.

According to the London Evening Standard, United want to sign RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko this summer.

Arsenal and Chelsea are also said to be interested, but United may now be trying to win the race.

The story says that Sesko’s agents have been guests at both Old Trafford and Chelsea this season in the same way.

Because Sesko has a release clause in his contract, RB Leipzig is reportedly “sounding out replacements.”

This summer, Sesko can leave RB Leipzig for €50 million (£43 million), and United may want to use that option.

This season, the Slovenian hasn’t been a usual player for RB Leipzig. He’s started 13 Bundesliga games and come off the bench for another 13.

But Sesko has scored nine goals and set up two others in that time, continuing to show how great he is.

What did Sesko say about the United team?
Fans of United will know Sesko’s name because he has been a target in the past.

United tried to get Sesko from Red Bull Salzburg in 2022, but he agreed to join partner club RB Leipzig instead.

That only cost RB Leipzig £20 million, so if that release clause is used, they could make a lot of money.

When asked why he didn’t join United in September, Sesko said that the “similar style of football” was a big reason.

United hasn’t given up on Sesko and might try again this summer, but they should think about that style of play again.

It’s not even clear who will be United’s manager next season, let alone what kind of football they will play.

Sesko turned down United before because he wasn’t sure about the way of play, and if United doesn’t get their house in order, it could happen again.
