In the next transfer window, Manchester United wants to improve all over the pitch. They’ll start by adding a player from Barcelona.
As they try to finish their business early, Manchester United is interested in a key Barcelona player before the summer transfer market opens.
After Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s partial ownership takeover, Manchester United have hired a number of new backroom staff to try to improve their off-field transfer operations. Erik ten Hag’s future is unclear at this time.
Because of this, a selection of possible right backs has been made at Old Trafford, with one flexible Barcelona star at the top of the list.

Rudy Galetti, an Italian writer, says that Manchester United has chosen Jules Kounde as one of the top three candidates to replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot at right back.
At Old Trafford, the fact that the Frenchman can play both right back and centre back is seen as a plus, since both places need to be improved this summer.
But Kounde won’t be cheap because he still has three years left on his Barcelona contract. He joined the club in the summer of 2022 and hasn’t played for them since. Transfermarkt rates the 25-year-old at £42 million, but Barcelona is expected to ask for more for a player who has started 39 games across all categories this season.

The story also says that Manchester United could choose between Jeremie Frimpong and Denzel Dumfries. Both players did great work for Bayer Leverkusen and Inter Milan.
All three, though, are set to play in the Champions League next season, so a move to Old Trafford might not be appealing. At this point, Manchester United has only qualified for the Europa Conference League.
From FourFourTwo’s point of view, Manchester United might not focus on getting a right back in the summer because they need to improve other parts of the game more right away. Both Wan-Bissaka and Dalot have done well this season and have also played left back when needed.
But Kounde might be the improvement United has been looking for in that spot. He can also play right back, which is another good thing about him as a possible deal.
Due to this, Kounde seems like a better choice for the Red Devils right now than both Frimpong and Dumfries.
