Despite opposition from Liverpool and Arsenal, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been informed that Manchester United are in a strong position to buy Michael Olise and Ebere Eze, who are currently on loan from Crystal Palace.
The poor 1-1 draw between Burnley and Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday seemed to be Erik ten Hag’s last straw as manager. As far as anybody can tell, the Dutchman’s job security is dependent on Manchester United’s success in the FA Cup and their qualification for the Champions League next season.
Even though United have one game in hand, they are now 13 points behind fourth-place Aston Villa and will face a formidable Manchester City team at Wembley.
Thomas Tuchel, Roberto De Zerbi, Graham Potter, and Gareth Southgate are among the candidates who might succeed Ten Hag.
Man Utd will be making a number of changes to both the coaching staff and the playing staff in preparation for the next season.
Some of the players that will be sold or given free transfers this summer are Anthony Martial, Christian Eriksen, Raphael Varane, and Casemiro.
The recruiting department at Manchester United is now working with Ratcliffe’s INEOS data specialists to find new stars to replace those that are getting on in years. Jarrad Branthwaite, Joao Neves, Jean-Clair Todibo, and Benjamin Sesko are all people that might be targeted.
Man Utd have reportedly shown interest in offensive midfielder Eze, while Ratcliffe is said to be a major admirer of Olise, a winger for Palace.
United have offered Olise and Eze encouragement.
Simon Jordan, a previous owner of Palace, has given Ratcliffe a lift by suggesting that Olise and Eze depart Selhurst Park this summer if Manchester United make an offer. It would be a mistake to write out Liverpool and Arsenal from the transfer race, however.
“Oliver Glasner has a large challenge on his hands because all eyes will be on Olise and Eze,” Jordan stated on talkSPORT, referring to Palace’s situation. Who will take their position if they are lost?
Michael Olise likely signed a new deal last year mainly to safeguard Palace’s worth going into the next round of talks. Plus, I don’t believe you can stop Eze from continuing full steam ahead.
“Then what am I to do?” For Palace’s sake, I would want to get every last cent from the buyers. Anyone from West Ham wants to come knocking on my door? They may throw their hook if they want to. That huge, jaw-dropping moment won’t happen for the athlete.
“However, when teams like Manchester United, Liverpool, or Arsenal visit, the player becomes a contributing factor because he says things like, ‘I enjoy it here, but I would prefer to play for a bigger football club.'” “I want to go now.”
When Olise signed a new contract with Palace last summer, it shocked Chelsea, who had him as a top summer transfer target. That removed the Frenchman’s bargain release clause and replaced it with a £70 million departure clause, protecting him.
Although Chelsea’s problems under Mauricio Pochettino may work against them in discussions with Olise, they are still a contender to sign him.
Valuation for Eze stands around £60 million. Tottenham Hotspur are aiming to outbid Manchester United for the services of the playmaker. Ratcliffe must move swiftly if he wants to lead the Palace pair to Old Trafford.
