The Premier League is getting ready for a big finish across the board. Spurs, Aston Villa, and Manchester United are all in the fight for fourth place, as well as the race for the title.
At the moment, Spurs and the Villains are in first place, both with 60 points. The Red Devils are in sixth place, with 49 points, but they have a game in hand.
Manchester United still has seven games to play, so it’s not impossible for them to win their next few and move ahead of the teams above them.
It’s true that all three teams have had trouble with stability this season. That being said, it’s not impossible for Man United to beat Tottenham and Villa.
Rio Ferdinand, a star at Old Trafford, has now said that he doesn’t think the Red Devils will be able to do that in the next few weeks.
What did Rio Ferdinand say about Manchester United’s chances of finishing in the top four?
The famous Manchester United player told talkSPORT that he thinks both teams are “too far ahead of us,” even though Spurs and Villa haven’t been very steady.
Ferdinand said that he used to be sure that Man United would make it to the Champions League, but now he doesn’t think that’s the case.
“Now it’s going to be hard,” Ferdinand said. “About a month or two ago, I was sure, but now I don’t see it.” I look at the scores and see that Spurs are still getting wins every once in a while.
Ville is having a rough patch right now, but I think they’re both too far ahead of us.
“To begin with, Man United isn’t the most reliable team. They’re not exactly on a roll where you think, ‘Actually, we could bang out six or seven wins on the bounce.'”
“Why are we going to do that now? We haven’t done that all season.” I don’t think Man United will be able to beat those two teams and make it into the Champions League.
In Our View
Ferdinand doesn’t seem to believe that Man United can make it to the top four anymore, which is a shame, but they still have a long way to go.
To use a figure of speech, Erik ten Hag will have to do his best to keep his players focused on the job at hand and not looking down.
One game at a time, starting with Saturday night’s away game against Bournemouth. It’s possible that football has seen stranger things.
