Lastly, here’s the latest on Manchester United’s pursuit of Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite. Football Insider reports that United are “confident” that they can convince the Toffees to sell with a price of £60–70 million.
The 21-year-old defender has reportedly been linked to Erik ten Hag’s squad in recent weeks, and if he is sold before June 30th, his current club can use the transfer fee to cover the 2023–24 season and avoid further point deductions.
Three o’clock in the morning verdict: Branthwaite is a tremendous young talent, and United should be trying to restock their trophy cabinet by signing him. Although he would cost the club over £70 million, it would be a wise investment for the future of the club.
