100% Take On, 8 clearances, 100% tackles won: £80M star Defender shows why Man Utd want to sign him in Summer

With another great game in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday night, Jarrad Branthwaite continued to build his great name. Manchester United is interested in signing him.

United is really interested in signing the Everton centre back this summer, and he really showed how good he is yesterday against Liverpool.

The 21-year-old got the first goal from a set piece in the 27th minute. He also played great defence, making eight clearances, five recoveries, and winning 75% of his duels.

Branthwaite also made all of his stops and completed five passes into the final third. He is getting a lot of attention before the summer, which is not a surprise.

People have been saying for a while that United is the favourite to sign him, and the recent hiring of Jason Wilcox could help them.

Wilcox works closely with David Reeves, who is Branthwaite’s agent, and this could help United agree to personal terms with Branthwaite before their competitors.

Even though Branthwaite is left-footed, he can play in both centre back spots. With his age and skill, he would be a great player for United to sign this summer.

The big question is still whether they can pay the £80 million price tag.

The club couldn’t make any kind of signings last winter because they might have broken the Profitability and Sustainability rules, and things probably won’t get much better this summer either.

United isn’t expected to make it to the Champions League this season, so their summer spending spree might rest on how much money they can get back from trades.
