Accrington Stanley celebrated the end of the season with a 4-1 win over Tranmere at home. Radek Vitek had a quiet afternoon. Because of this, The Old Reds finish the League Two season in 17th place.
In terms of shots, the home team had 20 to the away team’s 10, and they had 49% of the ball.
Luke Norris, a striker for Tranmere, scored the first goal after only two minutes, beating Vitek, who was on loan from Manchester United. This was the worst possible start to the afternoon.
But the team from the Wham Stadium did a great job of responding by tying the game just two minutes later.
After losing three games in a row in the league, Vitek’s team finally won with three goals in the second half.
After giving up a goal early in the game, the Czech goalkeeper had a pretty quiet afternoon. Sofascore gave him a score of 6.7 because he didn’t have many chances to shine.
He only had to make one save the whole game because Tranmere could only get two shots on goal while they were down.
The big goalie was also strong in the air when he had to be. He punched the ball away once and made two high saves.
He was better with the ball than he has been lately because his team was in charge of the game.
Vitek made 21 out of 30 passes, which is 70% of the time. He had 40 touches.
However, the kid could only hit with five of the fourteen long balls he tried.
For the whole game, the kid only had to make one pass, which made his afternoon very relaxing.
Accrington’s season came to an end with a convincing win. The club will be pleased with Vitek’s work since he joined in the winter transfer window.
The Czech custodian will probably go back to Manchester for a well-earned break. He will then join United’s pre-season group, where he will be evaluated and likely sent out on loan again, since he won’t play much at Old Trafford next season.
If a United young player gets regular playing time on a team that seems to be solid, bringing him back to Accrington next season might not be such a bad idea.
