Where manchester united sit in the latest UEFA coefficient rankings amid Champions League race

Man United’s slim chances of making it to the Champions League next year are almost over. This week was a bad one for English teams in Europe.

Next season, UEFA will add two more spots to the Champions League. These places will go to the countries whose clubs do the best in Europe this season.

A chart from UEFA that shows how each country’s teams do in the Champions League, the Europa League, and the Europa Conference League will be used to figure this out.

With a score of 19.428 this week, Italy got the first extra spot and is now in first place in the rankings. It will either be Germany or England that gets the second spot, but the Bundesliga is most likely to get it.

They were already in a good situation because Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich made it to the next round of the Champions League. But Bayer Leverkusen’s win over West Ham in the Europa League has made their chances even better; their score is now 17.928.

For Germany to be sure of the extra spot in the Champions League, their clubs need to win two more games in Europe or draw two games.

For England, all of their chances are on Aston Villa in the Europa Conference League, since they beat Lille on penalties to move on.

The score in the Premier League right now is 17.375, and while it’s close, Germany has a much better chance of getting more points than England.

United is ten points behind fifth-placed Tottenham in the Premier League table, so it wasn’t looking likely that they would make it to the Champions League.

These games this week, though, make it look like that spot won’t be enough to make the Champions League either.
